Letter of Introduction
Life is good. It always could be better, but I’m very grateful for what I have and the people I have in my life. I feel spoiled at times, but with good-hearted people and love from a lot friends and families, I appreciate my life. I have met a lot of people from church and from dancing groups who I consider family. I learn a lot from them. I love their encouragement and not feeling alone in this world. Without their encouragement pushing me forward to finish high school I would not have been so successful. I love the fact that I graduated high school, and I am furthering my education to become a great teacher, instead of being a teen mom without an education.
I would describe myself as a college student that is Hispanic and young. I like to simply live and enjoy the good life that has been given to me. I am a dancer who praises the Lord in and outside of school, a beautiful unexpected daughter, and the older sister. I always try my best to be patient with everyone and do what is correct. I am quiet at times, but I try my best to talk to people, to get to know them, and to be friendly. I would say I am funny, kind and humble. I have perseverance when there is something I want and I know it is good for me. I can conquer anything if I set my mind to it. For example, I wanted to be a dancer. I began by taking a dance class during the summer of my freshman year. Soon I continued to enjoy dance by watching videos and practicing whenever I had the time. Dance classes truly opened my heart to becoming someone better in the world, to making a difference. I dance in my church and I had the privilege to go to other countries and help my dance leader, Delki Rosso with dance workshops run by the school that she directs and I teach in. I am affiliated with House of T’heArts School and Ministry as both a dance instructor and a minister. To me this is a great honor. I would say I have a big passion for dance, because it is a form through which I truly express myself to God. People tell me that when they see me dance they feel something special, and I feel special in the eyes of God because it is a talent I did not know I had in me. I love expressing my love for my God through dance. However, dance is not my only interest. Also, I have an interest to travel throughout the world one day and enjoy every part that was created for us. I have an interest in music, In my home there has always had an Apple product around. Ever since the first iPod came out I started to enjoy music. Even before that I had a CD player. For fun I would like to learn how to play the guitar and sing along with it. I want to write music and show my friends one day, but nothing too serious. On the other hand, there are other things I am serious about. I don’t like causing trouble or getting in trouble, because it's never good. I am someone that is able to work with other people in a group without any problems because I value respect and I know it is given to everyone. So with that in mind, I can easily respect my authority. When I commit to something I do my best to stick to it. When I say, “yes” it is a “yes,” and when I have to say “no” I am able to say it because I have priorities. I try my best to work hard, outshine, and be different. I like being creative with tasks given to me. I love being organized, and love putting things in order. I will always be willing to help other people be more organized if asked of me. I love to listen to experiences people have in life to learn from them and try to not repeat the same mistakes. I also speak two different languages Spanish and English which is great to be able to communicate with more people. I think I have a great contagious laugh, that make people laugh and feel comfortable. I may have a lot that could characterize me but there is only one thing that I am most proud of. My main accomplishment was entering in a college. It is such a great joy to know that I am able to continue my education in such a great school that is close to home. When I was in Junior High I didn’t see myself in college at all. I had a fear for the future, but things changed and now I feel I can achieve anything. While I'm in college there are many things I hope to achieve. I think I still need to improve and develop my writing and understanding how to become a better life changer, as a future teacher. I also hope to learn more on how to communicate my thoughts better because I’m usually very shy. In college I try my best to not be shy at all and communicate what I think and feel. As a student I shouldn’t limit myself. There is always something to learn, we don’t know everything, and in college there are a lot of educators to talk with who have a lot of experience. Even when we know a subject or two, when we go back and review it again we can always come up with new ideas and thoughts, which create new information. I want to remain learning as much as possible. I want to graduate with good grades, and get my Masters is a long-term goal. Some of my short-term goals in my life are to get my driver’s license this year in order to drive and get a job as a counselor in any kid’s camp during the summer. One day I hope to become a great teacher, wife, and an amazing mother. I also want to always have God next to me in my journey because without Him things wouldn’t be as easy. He is the one that holds my troubles and hardships when situations around me get rough and He’s the one that hugs me and loves me like no other ever will, as said in Psalm 18:2, "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge." I trust in God and I know He has my back but I have a great concern as I begin my teacher preparation program; it is simple: not being prepared enough, or not knowing enough. I’m looking forward to being a teacher and just being a part of kids’ lives—going on trips and showing them that there is always something to learn outside of school too. As people we are able to learn something every day and we should not limit what is inside us because everyone has something different to show others. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me in these years. I am excited about what I am majoring in because I feel it in my heart it is what is right for me to do. |
